Happy New Years Friends!

Boy has it been a while! I almost forgot I had a blog. J/k I put blogging on holding months ago to focus on finishing something else, Before I get into all that, I’d like to reflect on last year for a minute. Here are a few of my favorites.

My daughter graduated High School!

Can you believe it? I’m now a mom to an 18 year college student. Oh, it was bitter-sweet. The graduation ceremony was lovely and we were so proud of her.

My 39th birthday at the Beach

You read that right, last year in my thirties! I’m embracing every moment as much as I can! You can see more photos from our little trip to Torrey Pines State Beach here. The beach always makes me happy but Torrey Pines made my birthday pure delight. The weather was perfect and the views were breathtaking. I can’t wait to go back.

BLOGFEST/IDEAWORLD Fitness Convention in Las Vegas

I attended this convention two other times but this time it was not local to me so I flew there and stood in a hotel. Vegas can be a scary place to go alone, thankfully I had a found a great roommate to stay with the entire time. Her name is Jess. We had some great late night conversations about our goals and where we want to be in life. We still keep in touch to this day.

As usual, we listened to some great speakers and learned so much but the best part was meeting these people:

Rachel Cosgrove:

A little background on Rachel: About 8 years ago, I bought a strength training book on Amazon called the Female Body Breakthrough by Rachel Cosgrove. Not only did it help me get stronger, look and feel better, I learned a lot about strength training and I’ve been able to apply the principles to my own clients training.
After years of being a big fan of Rachel’s, I finally had the pleasure of meeting her at IDEA Wold Fitness Convention. She was so down to earth and willing to answer my fitness questions. 🙂

Todd Durkin:

I don’t even know where to start because this man is so amazing. Todd Durkin won the 2017 IDEA World Personal Trainer of the year award. His speech was emotional and inspiring and everything in between but It didn’t end there, on Friday I had the pleasure of hearing him speak again (to our smaller blogfest group) and even had a chance to meet him in person. I was so excited when I walked up to him, all I could say was “You’re so inspiring!” He said “thank you” so humbly. I loved that. I started reading his “WOW” book the moment I got home from the convention and was wowed! Not even 1/2 way through the book, my eyes opened up and I decided to take action in my life. I’m not going to get into too much detail on his book because I plan to write a full blog post on it a little later. All I’m going to say is, it’s really good!!!!  If you don’t already know Todd, you can check him out here

Aside from meeting some really inspiring fitness professionals, I also enjoyed meeting other like-minded ladies at the convention. It was awesome to step away from my role as wife and mom for a few days and soak up all the fitness and blogging education, inspiration and mingle with new fitness/blogger friends 🙂

2017 was a great year.  I have a good feeling about 2018. I will be 40 this year and boy do I have goals!

Up next, my goals for 2018.

Happy New Year.
