Happy New Year! Yes, I’m a little late to the party but what else is new?
This is a big year for me. I’m turning the big “40” Can you believe it? I can’t! Whether I accept it or not, it’s happening and I am going to make the best of it!
I have so many goals this year but the most important is to be proud of myself. I can honestly say this one has been a struggle for me. I have found every excuse not to accomplish what I want and I am tired of it. I am tired of having the same goals every year and never achieving them. This year is going to be different!
While we’re at it, here are some other things I want to accomplish this year:
NASM PERSONAL TRAINER CERTIFICATION
It has always been my goal to be a certified with NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) because of its reputation as being what one of the most credible certifications and one of the hardest exams to pass. Passing the exam would feel like such an accomplishment.
This has been my goal for the last two years and each year I have failed to get it done. Well, no more! This fall I decided to get serious about my studying. For the last 3 months every free moment has been spent studying and I plan to take (and pass) my exam next week!!! It’s finally happening!
DEEPER YOGA PRACTICE
I am proud to say that I committed to doing yoga every single day for the last year. Even if it was only 10 minutes, I did it. Most days I try to get in at least 10-30 minutes. Because I deal with chronic back pain, yoga is a must for me. I feel so much better when I practice it and I plan to dive deeper this year.
My goal is to do an acro yoga pose with my husband. We have tried a few times but I end up losing balance, mostly because I can’t stop laughing.
CELEBRATE 20 YEARS OF MARRIAGE
This fall will mark 20 years since I married my husband. It would be nice to celebrate by mastering this yoga pose. It would also be nice to do it on a beach just like this.
Because we got married and started a family so young, we have never traveled. I think going to Cabo San Lucas would be a great way to celebrate. Don’t you think?
Last but not least:
FEEL GREAT AT 40
In the last few years, I have dealt with depression, anxiety, weight gain and chronic back pain to name a few. All I want this year is to feel good about myself and will take the necessary steps to do so. Looking great would be nice too. 🙂 I have big plans for myself! Feel free to follow me on this journey 🙂
